Établissement : Université d'Ottawa ()
Catégorie : Faculté de génie

Description du cours

This mini-course explores the impact of human activities and infrastructure on rivers. Participants will learn to identify environmental effects, understand the role of sustainable practices, and examine real-world examples of ecosystem changes. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze the effects of activities such as dam construction, fish farming, and infrastructure development near rivers on water quality and benthic macroinvertebrate biodiversity, and propose simple strategies to protect rivers. The course also strengthens critical thinking, environmental awareness, and practical skills for river conservation.
