This course will uncover the inner workings of our brain. The brain is the control centre of our body and helps us think, feel, and move! Students will learn about the different parts of our brains that work together to solve problems, understand language, make sense of the world around us, and remember information through fun experiments and activities. Additionally, students will learn about interesting brain disorders like attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and generally how technology/phone-use can impact our brains. The goal of this course is to deepen student’s understanding of the function of the brain and brain health.
Biographie
My name is Kristina I have finished two science degrees and am working on becoming a PhD that specializes in neuroscience and memory. I am also passionate about helping youth and training to become a psychologist for kids. This means that I can help diagnose mental health disorders and also support youth that are going through a tough time. In terms of experience, I have coached soccer for youth of different ages, mentored my own students for research, and tutored youth for science classes.
