This fun and interactive mini-course empowers high school students with essential nutrition knowledge and critical food literacy skills. Students will learn how to make food choices that fuel their physical growth, cognitive development, and overall well-being. Through engaging hands-on activities, they’ll discover the basics of macronutrients (like carbs, proteins, and fats), explore easy meal and snack ideas, and gain tools to debunk trendy diets and misleading nutrition claims. Additionally, students will master reading nutrition labels and learn how to tweak everyday meals for healthier options. By combining practical skills with critical thinking, this course lays the foundation for informed food decisions that support lifelong health and success. Aimed at youth and their families, it’s a timely initiative to inspire healthier habits among tomorrow’s leaders.Please note : This mini-course will not take place on the main campus of the University of Ottawa, but at the Lees campus.
