Introduction to global health leadership

This course will give an overview of Global Health Leadership, and the basic skills necessary to become a global health leader. It will also introduce students to a way of thinking globally and comparatively about health problems and strategies to address them. We will use several outbreaks like Mpox, COVID-19 and others to create real world scenarios for practice. Sessions will be very interactive and will welcome ideas from everyone.

Please note : This mini-course will not take place on the main campus of the University of Ottawa, but at the Lees campus.

Biographie

I am Rose Mary Tazinya, a third-year Ph.D. student in Population Health at the University of Ottawa. I have a background in medicine and obtained my MD degree from the University of Buea in Cameroon, after which I did a master’s in public health methodology at Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. Prior to coming to the University of Ottawa, I worked as a public health physician and occupied several roles in reproductive health and infectious disease epidemiology.
