In this mini-course, you will explore simple yet powerful activities to enhance your well-being and create lasting positive change. What are the most effective strategies for managing stress, time, and emotions? What role do mirror neurons play in empathy? How can you tap into the power of visualization to achieve your goals? Through a deep dive into positive psychology and a variety of activities, such as journaling, group discussions, and outings near campus, you will cultivate evidence-based tools to optimize your happiness, help you thrive, and become the best version of yourself.

Please note : This mini-course will not take place on the main campus of the University of Ottawa, but at the Lees campus.

Biographie

Sarah is a PhD candidate in Education who has given this mini-course for three consecutive years. She completed an Honours Bachelor in Human Kinetics with a Minor in Psychology in 2020, followed by a Master of Arts in Human Kinetics in 2023. Her Master’s thesis investigated the impact of positive education and yoga on undergraduate students’ mental health. As a doctoral student, Sarah strives to further advance our understanding of how to promote mental health and resilience among university students. She is drawn to the intricacies of the human brain and is passionate about student well-being, positive education, and human flourishing. Beyond her academic and professional endeavours, Sarah loves playing the piano, spending time with loved ones, and creating happiness videos for her Instagram page @sunshinecocoon.
