Description du cours

This course looks at the relationships between humans and animals to consider how our co-existence has helped us to better understand ourselves. We will journey through history to discover when this relationship began, starting with ancient animal husbandry and Aristotle’s biological curiosity, to the bizarre, and sometimes gross, relationship with animals in the Middle Ages. We will also look at Indigenous traditions and end with a contemporary look at primatology, animal activism and why we love our pets. If you love the weird and wonderful world of animals, history, and science, then this course is for you!
