Course Description
In 'Eco-Detectives: Exploring the Mystery of Humans and their Environments,' participants will embark on an exciting journey to uncover the complex relationships between human societies and the environments they live in. This engaging and fun introduction to environmental anthropology includes interactive lessons, real-world case studies, and field activities, allowing aspiring eco-detectives to explore how human actions impact ecosystems, climate, and biodiversity—and how these systems influence us in return. By the end of the mini-course, students will strengthen and enhance their critical thinking skills and gain a deeper understanding of environmental challenges, discovering how anthropology can help address these global complexities.
Biography
My name is Ria Firth, I am a PhD candidate in anthropology at University of Ottawa. I have extensive experience in developing and leading interactive workshops in both academic and creative settings.
