Course Description
This mini-course explores “smart cities” – urban areas that leverage technology to improve sustainability and quality of life. Students will learn about sustainable urban solutions like efficient transportation, renewable energy, and waste management. Through hands-on activities and real-world case studies, they’ll design their own city models, applying engineering concepts to tackle urban challenges. By the end, students will understand how technology can create greener, more resilient cities. Biography
My name is Bridget Asamoah, a current master’s student in Engineering Management at the University of Ottawa. I bring hands-on experience in construction project planning and pre-construction, both in Canada and internationally. My background includes roles that emphasize sustainable development and the integration of technology into urban spaces, aligning well with the "smart cities" concept. I am passionate about engaging young students in understanding how engineering and technology can create sustainable, high-quality urban environments for the future
