Course Description

As more data moves online, protecting it has become more important than ever! In this mini-course, students will dive into the world of cybersecurity, learning foundational principles in a hands-on, engaging way. They will explore essential topics like creating strong passwords, recognizing phishing attempts, and understanding the basics of data encryption. Through interactive activities, such as password strength challenges, simulated phishing exercises, and group discussions on real-life online threats, students will gain practical knowledge to keep themselves safe in the digital world. This course is designed to be age-appropriate, making cybersecurity concepts accessible and fun for young learners.

Biography

I am currently a master's student at the University of Ottawa, majoring in Digital Transformation and Innovation. Previously, I completed a master's degree in Software Development at the University of Glasgow in the UK. I also volunteered in Bali, Indonesia, teaching English to children. I have extensive experience in teaching and working in multicultural environments.
