Terrific Teachers of Tomorrow

Course Description

In this mini-course students will be introduced to the topic of what makes a terrific teacher and the pathway to becoming one. Through reflection, discussionand interactive activities we will address the core values of teachers and their standards of practice, what makes a "dream classroom", and the many different approaches to teaching a variety of topics. Students will accrue a bank of teaching and general education resources, as well as have the opportunity to teach the class on a topic of their choice.

Biography

Hi! I'm currently a first year Teacher Candidate with the University of Ottawa in the Primary/Junior division. I am also one of the mentors with the Faculty of Education's Peer Mentoring Program. I have entered education after an 11 year career in nursing; though I have been working with and mentoring youth and university-aged students for many years now. I look forward to working with your youths to enlighten them on the field of Education and inspire them to become the teachers of tomorrow!
