Course Description
This course will focus on youth-led environmental activism. Students will first learn about different environmental issues, such as climate change, biodiversity loss and desertification. They will then learn about different ways that youth have led environmental initiatives, from student marches such as “Fridays for Future” to youth-led litigation in Canada. Students will discuss the efficacy of these different initiatives though case studies. They will then have the chance to propose their own environmental activism ideas and put them into action. Students will leave with better knowledge about the different environmental crises we face and should be empowered with the tools to discuss them.
