Course Description
This mini-course covers the most pressing issues in international trade law today that will directly impact the world tomorrow. This will include an overview of the pros and cons of the international trade system. Participants will also engage in a mock trade negotiation, policy analysis, and implementation process. The course objectives are: 1) to understand what international trade is and how it works; 2) to understand the World Trade Organization and its functions; and, 3) to understand how Regional Trade Agreements are changing international trade. Students will gain the following key skills: negotiation, political awareness, critical thinking, and legal reasoning.
