The Innovation Jam: Designing a digital product using the fundamentals of Person-Centered Design 

Course Description

In this highly collaborative, hands-on course, you will participate in The Innovation Jam! During the five-day design sprint, you will focus on a particular challenge and use a collaborative, time-constrained set of activities in a team setting. You will use class teachings about visually designing an app to advance your final design! Classes will introduce you to a people-centered design process: brainstorm ideas, develop concepts through sketching and wireframing, prototype your concept, and create a final design! You will learn about the principles of people-centered design (PCD) and the basics of defining the look and feel of your app. The course will also introduce you to the importance of understanding the experience, needs, and wants of the person you are designing and evaluating your idea with class feedback. The Innovation Jam will conclude with a display, presentation, and discussion of your team’s designs.
